I ♥ SG

Destination: Singapore

After a pleasant enough 10 and a half hour flight from Christchurch we arrived in the very high tech Singapore Airport. The swanky airport was a sign of things to come, I am sure Singapore must have a team of highly dedicated house elves somewhere as everywhere is immaculately clean and everything runs like clockwork. It was child’s play to find our way from the airport to our hostel in Little India, even I could navigate the way there!

Goodbye mountains of New Zealand.
Our first morning in Singapore I was delighted to see that we had curry and roti for breakfast (alongside scrambled eggs and peanut butter toast of course). After our hearty and nutritious breakfast we were ready to explore. It was great to feel the sun again, the humidity on the other hand would take some getting used to.
Walking along Clarke Quay, I loved the Dr. Seuss style buildings.

From here we walked along the down town district and the Collyer Quay. It was here that I asked Matt a question that I never thought I would;

‘Is that a boat on top of that building?’

Ahh Las Vegas has arrived in Singapore via the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
Obligatory 'pretend to eat the boat like a baguette' photograph.

Speaking of breaded goods, this is how they do burgers in Singapore.
No bun, just rice. Mind blown.

From here we made it to Raffles, home of the Singapore Sling.

Deciding we were far to sweaty to walk through the famous Raffles doors today, we instead spent the rest of the afternoon in the much welcomed air conditioned National Museum of Singapore.

Pretty Balloons.

Finally we ended the day how we started it, with a curry!

Thali? Dont mind if I do!
